About Us

Ride The Classic is a unique leisure cycling sportive, taking you through the beautiful country lanes and bogs of East Galway. A combination of off-road sectors on bog roads, farm tracks, boreens, and manor estates, make up about 25% of the route.

Ride The Classic is the sister event to the Galway Classic, Ireland's only Classics road race, held on the same course but on a different day. Ride The Classic gives leisure riders a true taste of the traditional gritty northern european professional road races, an experience and memorable challenge like none other.

Both events, the sportive and the race, are organised on a voluntary basis by Galway Bay Cycling Club, just because we love biking!
